A child is looking out a window
Trees lift slenderly
from murky dreams of shellfish
wavering in the blinding snow
like lonely antennae

The child’s voice
is sucked into a thick, gray canvas
in the evening
A single teardrop
trailing a huge, black shadow
falls into the depth of the sky
